Nir Tsfaty - in a studio session


Nir Tsfaty is a Melbourne-based Screen Composer, Singer-songwriter and Music Director at Production Alley Studios — 2023 APRA Screen Music Awards nominee in the Best Music For Short Film category. 

Over the past decade, Tsfaty has composed music for film, advertising, TV, dance and theatre.
His portfolio includes award-winning projects with clients including ABC, Respect Victoria, iSelect(Bronze winner, 2022 New York Festivals Advertising Awards), David Jones, Collarts,  Jalna, Hapoel Jerusalem B.C, Sinfonietta Be'er Sheva Orchestra, Jerusalem Street Orchestra and more.
In 2023, he was nominated in the Best Music for a Short Film category in the 2023 APRA Screen Music Awards for his original soundtrack for Scorpion Ascent by director Yaniv Linton.


As a singer-songwriter,  he has previously released four studio albums with his bands Noria and Bell Always: Under The Sun, Daylight Slowly Fades, Clear Backgrounds and Anthers. Three of the album singles earned the Song of the Week title on Israeli national radio 88fm.

Since his relocation to Melbourne in 2019, Tsfaty has collaborated with Invictus Quartet and performed a series of headline shows titled About Whales, including sold-out debut nights at Melbourne Recital Centre in July 2021 and Wesley Anne, and live videos recorded at Meat Market in Melbourne.

Nir's musical skills, versatility and broad knowledge allow him to compose in different genres and styles while maintaining an authentic, original voice.
His music is warm and dynamically broad, ranging from whispery solo instrumentals through chamber sound to symphonic emotional peaks. His production approach brings to each project polished compositions with a hand-crafted quality.

Nir is also a dedicated educator with twelve years of experience teaching guitar, composition, songwriting and music theory. He has 3.5 years of experience as a classroom teacher and developer of unique musical courses.
